Welcome to the SprintPCS-sucks.com Web site. Here is my story. The story is posted in reverse chronological order and is updated as new information comes in.

It appears that calling Sprint PCS Customer Service on the 7th has paid off. Today, I recevied a bill from Sprint PCS in the amount of -$39.86. My previous balance was $273.10, which I was credited. I also recevied a credit (check actually) in the amount of $39.86 for "Total Tax Adjustments Mar 20." It appears that this saga may finally be over.

Sprint PCS has left 4 messages on my answering machine at home over the past week. Today, I returned their call. The number given was for Sprint Financial Services or something like that. Amazing, a real person answered this number on the first ring. The CS representative asked the reason for my call, I explained to her that I had received four messages from them asking me to call and that I have now received two bills from Sprint PCS. After some discussion with the CS representative, she determined that she couldn't help me and that I would need to call Customer Care. The CS representative gave me the telephone number for Customer Care, which incidentally was the same telephone number that never went through on February 23, 2006.
Ok, so I called the number again. Call me crazy. This time, it disconnected again. I decided to try one more time. This time the call went through. I was connected with a Sprint PCS CS representative. After explaining the situation again, she told me that each time they charged my credit card, it was charged back. I explained to her that I had received a credit from Sprint PCS and disputed every charge after that. She read over my file and asked if I had been told that I would receive a credit. I answered, "Yes." The CS representative then told me that I would be given a credit in the amount of $273.10 and that she would expedite it to her supervisor.
I asked the CS representative what the next step was? She explained that I would be issued a credit and that it would show up on my next bill from Sprint PCS. We shall wait and see.

Well, the saga continues. I received a letter from Sprint PCS yesterday dated February 19, 2006, and I quote.
Our records as of February 19, 2006, indicate that your PCS Account with Sprint has a balance of $273.10. This amount is currently due.
Sprint PCS was kind enough to provide a toll free number to call to discuss payment options. I called the number. The customer service representative explained that I owed $273.10 because they have charged that to my credit card twice, but both times I was given a credit. Therefore, I still owed the money. I explained the situation to her and she told me that I needed to call another customer service number.
I called the second number, pushed the appropriate buttons and said the proper phrases to connect to a CS representative. Both times I was transferred to a CS representative but the calls never went through. The line was disconnected. I tackle this another day.
One would think that if I was issued a credit twice now, that Sprint PCS would get the idea. I guess that the two departments within Sprint PCS have not had an opportunity to compare notes on this.

Update. Check that last update. It appears that this issue is not resolved. Checking my CC statement today showed that my CC company has charged back their original credit. This is in addition to another charge by Sprint PCS to my CC. I have outlined all the charges / credits to may account below.
12/29/2005 REBILLING OF PREVIOUSLY ISSUED CREDIT 273.10
12/17/2005 SPRINTPCS AUTOPYMT ROVERLAND PARK KS $273.10
12/09/2005 A SPRINT PCS 999 OVERLAND PARK KS -273.10
11/21/2005 CREDIT PENDING INVESTIGATION OF DISPUTE -273.10
11/16/2005 SPRINTPCS AUTOPYMT ROVERLAND PARK KS 273.10
Three charges plus two credits means I did not receive my credit. I have contacted my CC company and we are starting the process again. It is interesting that the charge on 12/17/2005 occurred on my previous regular billing cycle.
December 14, 2005
Update. I checked my credit card account online today. I noticed that there was a credit from A SPRINT PCS 999 OVERLAND PARK KS in the amount of 273.10 which was the exact amount that was charged to my card on November 16, 2005. The original amount that Sprint PCS charged me for early termination fees was $502.29. This included three fees at $150 each plus tax. After my telephone conversation with Sprint PCS on October 28, 2005 (see below) they credited me $200.
After receiving my statement with the $273.10 charge from Sprint PCS, I immediately called Sprint PCS Customer Service. I received no satisfaction from Sprint PCS Customer Service (see below and the Blog). So, I turned this over to my credit card company for resolution. Well, it appears that is has been resolved.
December 3, 2005
I was a Sprint PCS customer twice in my life. My first cell phone was with Sprint PCS back in the 1990s. I switched to Cingular when I changed jobs in 2000. However, after a few years with Cingular I went back to Sprint PCS. In September 2005 I decided to give Cingular another try for various and sundry reasons.
My Sprint PCS contract was up in May 2005. From that time I vacillated between switching from Sprint PCS to Cingular. In September 2005 I decided to change. It was a very painless process. Cingular was able to handle porting all of my lines, I have 4. However, when I received my last Sprint PCS bill, I was charged three $150 early termination fees (plus tax). That was on October 28, 2005. I immediately called the Sprint PCS customer service line. According to Sprint PCS I owed the early termination fees because my three Shared Lines were still under contract until May 2006. My question to them was, "If my main line contract was over in May 2005 and I was on a month to month contract, could I cancel that line without penalty?" Sprint PCS's answer was, "Yes." I then asked what would happen to my three shared lines if the main line was cancelled. I was put on hold for a while. The Sprint PCS representative came back on the line and told me that the three lines would go onto another plan. I asked what plan? Again, I was put on hold. Basically, there was no contingency for this situation. So after about 30 minutes on the phone with Sprint PCS's customer service I asked to speak to her supervisor. After another few minutes on hold, the Sprint PCS representative told me that Sprint PCS would credit my account the three early termination fees that I was charged. I asked her to repeat what she said, and she again told me that Sprint PCS was going to credit my account the full amount of the early termination fees. I thanked her for her time and hung up thinking all was fine.
When I received my November 2005 credit card statement, there was a charge from Sprint PCS for about $270. The original charge on my Sprint PCS bill was around $500. I again called the Sprint PCS customer service telephone number. I explained the situation to the Sprint PCS representative. This representative told me that I was not entitled to a credit. I explained that I had already received a credit when I called in October. We went back and forth for a little while. Again, I asked to speak with the supervisor. The supervisor told me that the first Sprint PCS representative I spoke with should not have given me a credit. To which I responded, she did and so did her supervisor. I asked her if they recorded their telephone calls. She said yes, but it would take a while to obtain it. She brought up the contract again. Basically, at this point I had a new contract with Sprint PCS. I was told by an official Sprint PCS representative that I was going to receive a full credit for the early termination fees. This supervisor refused to honor the credit from my previous call. So we parted ways and this brings us to this Web site.
